The Fruit of Impatience

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Impatience will frequently put you into a crisis that would not have come had you been patient.  Frequently people go to God in prayer as an afterthought, instead of coming to Him in the beginning to find His will. Problems will come when you listen to the wrong “experts.”  This is usually based on the visible which is presently happening, whereas God sees what is going to happen.  When Paul was on the ship going to Rome, Acts 27:13-26, during the storm the sailors panicked and threw out much cargo and tackle.  Don’t throw out things of value in a time of crisis.  Some stop reading their Bibles, praying or going to Church, whereas if they would hold on a little longer, they would receive God’s answer for them.  Wait for God’s direction in your time of need, and you will be blessed.

Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” - N. A. S. B. Impatience can cause wise people to do foolish things.

Love That Never Fails

John 17:26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

The love God the Father had for His Son, is the same quality He has for each one who has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior.  He wants this love to continue to grow in you, but it’s up to you to accept or reject it.  A person may say they love the Lord, but actions will speak louder than words.  You show your love for Him in a variety of ways, and one of them is longing to be in His presence.  Does it seem to be drudgery when its necessary to go to a prayer meeting?  If a meal was going to be served during the time of a prayer meeting, possible three times as many people would show up, than if there was no meal served.  God wants you to love Him for who He is, and not what you can get out of Him.  Develop a love life with Him through prayer and study His Word, and see Him greatly respond.

The truest end of life is to know the love that never ends.  Is your passport for eternity in order?  Don’t put it off, you may need it sooner than you think.

Overcoming Temptation

2 Peter 1:5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge.

All of you are desirous of increasing your faith so that you will be able to get your prayers answered.  This is possible as you spend more time studying your Bible, see Romans 10:17.  Peter tells you to add virtue to your faith.  Some of the dictionary definitions are, goodness, moral excellence and purity.  Virtue seems to be lacking in the lives of many who call themselves Christians.  Their attitude is that it’s not necessary unless they are caught.  God has a different idea for you, and expects you to fulfill this command in your life if you are going to spend eternity with Him.  The first step that is necessary is to have a desire to be virtuous.  Next it is necessary to allow him to point out the things that are missing the mark in your life.  Ask Him to make you fit for the Master’s use.

When you’re tempted to not do what you know is right, recognize where the temptation is originating. Resist the devil vigorously so that he will feel like a lion in the den with Daniel.

Christ The Rock

Standing Upon The Rock

In many ways life is like the waters of the ocean beating on the shore. Sometimes the waves are gentle, and roll in. Yet other times when the storms come the waves are violent, raging and come crashing in. However if you stand on the Rock, the Rock will remain. No matter how violent the waves become, the Rock will stand.
